The workshops are an integral part of the EMV Expo, providing the ideal opportunity for intensive, practice-oriented dialog. Industry experts are also encouraged to actively participate in shaping the program for next year’s workshops. Chairman of the Workshop Committee, Holger Bentje (NMi Testlab GmbH), summarizes the innovations for the coming year:
“We have deliberately broadened the content of the EMV 2027 workshops to incorporate even more future-oriented contributions. New subject areas such as artificial intelligence, modern energy infrastructures, or defense-related security applications are gaining increasing relevance for the EMC industry. For the Call for Workshops, we also encourage more submissions with real-world relevance to place a closer focus on new innovations and the challenges currently facing the industry.”
Key Topics of the Call for Workshops
EMV 2027 specifically addresses key developments within the industry and integrates them as focus topics into the Call for Workshops, such as:
- Security & defense, including security classification requirements and technical implementation
- Wireless and communication technologies
- The use of artificial intelligence in EMC processes and measurements
- DC power grids as drivers of innovation, with particular emphasis on the increasing relevance of grid stability and energy quality
- Wireless power transfer for both consumer and industrial applications
These topics highlight the growing relevance of cross-disciplinary approaches. New committee member, Prof. Jan Carsten Hansen of Graz University of Technology, explains:
“Electromagnetic compatibility is increasingly evolving into an interdisciplinary topic going far beyond traditional boundaries. Playing an active part in this evolution was an important motivator behind my participation in the EMV Committee. For me, it is vital that the content is understandable, broadly accessible and has real-world relevance. The workshops offer an ideal platform to apply current knowledge more quickly and to specifically promote dialog within the industry.”
Continuation of the Experiment & Live Demonstration Session
A special highlight remains the successful Experiment & Live Demonstration Session, which will return for 2027. The interactive format on the EMV Technology Stage in the exhibition forum brings content to life for the visitors and encourages professional exchange within the community. The session is also accessible to visitors and exhibitors at no extra cost. Submissions for the Call for Workshops are invited on all topics – from traditional themes to the latest approaches and innovations.
Advantages for Speakers at a Glance
With their own workshop, speakers will have the opportunity to present their expertise in a targeted manner, to establish themselves as thought leaders within the EMC community, and to actively shape the development of the industry. In addition, they can discuss current challenges and solutions directly with highly qualified industry professionals from all over the world, driving the transfer of knowledge into practice. For attendees, the compact, interactive sessions offer high added value for their daily work. By bringing together stakeholders from companies, start-ups, universities, associations, and research institutions, the EMV creates space for an open, constructive, and peer-to-peer dialog.
Unique Synergy of Workshop Program and EMV Expo
Running parallel to the conference and workshop program is the world’s largest exhibition for electromagnetic compatibility, featuring over 120 exhibiting companies. The expo showcases the latest products, technologies, and solutions for the industry.
This creates special added value for speakers: Content from the workshops can be explored in greater depth directly on-site, discussed with the community, and experienced in concrete applications. This close integration of the technical program and expo is unique worldwide and makes EMV a central platform for knowledge transfer and networking.
